Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Grafana Implementation and Support Engineer to join our IT/DevOps team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of the Grafana platform for monitoring and visualizing application and infrastructure performance. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with various teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Grafana Implementation:

• Plan, design, and execute the deployment of Grafana across multiple environments.
• Configure Grafana to monitor key performance metrics, including custom dashboards, alerts, and data sources.
  
  

Support and Maintenance:

• Provide ongoing support for the Grafana platform, ensuring continuous monitoring and optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Grafana configurations, data collection, and visualizations.
• Perform regular upgrades and maintenance of the Grafana platform.
  
  

Monitoring and Optimization:

• Monitor application and infrastructure performance in real-time, identifying and diagnosing performance issues.
• Work with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to implement performance improvements and optimizations.
• Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  
  

Collaboration and Training:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, QA, operations) to integrate Grafana into the monitoring and alerting lifecycle.
• Train and support team members in the use of Grafana for monitoring and troubleshooting.
  
  

Reporting and Documentation:

• Generate and distribute regular reports on application and infrastructure performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of Grafana configurations, monitoring setups, and troubleshooting procedures.
  
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay current with the latest Grafana features, best practices, and industry trends.
• Proactively suggest enhancements to improve monitoring capabilities and performance.
  
  

Qualifications:

Education:

Experience:

• Minimum X years of experience in performance monitoring and management, specifically with Grafana.
• Proven experience in the end-to-end implementation and support of Grafana in a complex environment.
  
  

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Grafana, including installation, configuration, and customization.
• Experience with data sources such as Prometheus, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, and others.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Understanding of network protocols and application architectures.
• Application and Infrastructure Monitoring - Expertise in monitoring applications and underlying infrastructure
• Cloud Platform Knowledge: Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their specific metrics for effective cloud monitoring.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues and conduct thorough RCA.
• Customization and Configuration: Proficiency in customizing dashboards, alerts, and reports to meet specific business and technical requirements.
• Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks and enhance monitoring capabilities.
