Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work across our AdTech platform, including backend APIs, Real-Time Bidding (RTB) systems, and advertising reporting/data-processing services.

The engineer will work across Python, Node.js, and Java and should be comfortable owning high-volume, production-grade backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend APIs for UI and platform functionality using Python and/or Node.js.
• Build APIs supporting campaign management, configuration, reporting, and platform operations.
• Develop and maintain Java-based RTB and Ad Exchange services.
• Work on high-throughput, low-latency real-time advertising request/response processing.
• Develop and maintain Python-based advertising reporting and data-processing services/scripts.
• Work with event and reporting pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, databases, and cloud storage.
• Troubleshoot and optimize production services, database queries, and data pipelines.
• Participate in architecture, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with UI, SDK, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Python and/or Node.js backend development.
• Working knowledge of Java and Scala and ability to contribute to an existing Java codebase.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• Experience with distributed, scalable backend systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting skills.
• +3 years of experience in AdTech / programmatic advertising & understanding of RTB, OpenRTB, DSPs, SSPs, Ad Exchanges, bidders, impressions, clicks, and advertising reporting.
• Experience building high-QPS, low-latency systems.
• Experience with large-scale event processing and reporting pipelines.
• Docker/containerized deployment and monitoring experience.

Experience

• • 5+ years of backend/software engineering experience preferred.
  • We are looking for a strong hands-on engineer capable of independently understanding existing systems and taking ownership across API development, RTB/Ad Exchange services, and reporting/data pipelines.
