What you’d be doing in this role As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. At the moment, this role is focused on: A core focus of this role is working with Canva's acquired professional design products — Cavalry (motion design and animation), Affinity (professional photo, graphic design and publishing), and Flourish (data visualisation) — which represent the cutting edge of creative software. You'll be embedded in teams building deeply technical, professional-grade tools, which brings a distinct set of quality challenges. You will be the main driver for improving quality in your embedded team and work with key stakeholders to drive process, tooling, and testing changes. You will also be responsible for creating the test strategy for the team's projects, with a focus on shift left QA activities instead of just test execution. You will also be the subject matter expert for the team's testing and product knowledge, driving knowledge sharing and documentation for your team and other teams' software engineers and QA You'll also need to model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, improving processes and solutions for other QA engineers. You'll work with other Senior QA engineers to define expectations and up skill other QA engineers. You will drive the adoption of AI-powered approaches to evolve quality engineering practices, improving defect prevention, test intelligence, and overall product quality outcomes You're probably a match if You are proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity, thriving in a fast-paced environment where you can take initiative and drive outcomes. You have experience with working with product teams, and defining the QA process for your team. This may involve looking at the current development process for each team, identifying opportunities for injecting quality, and advocating for process changes to improve product quality. You can articulate technical concepts clearly and work effectively within a team environment, readily sharing knowledge and engaging with stakeholders across the engineering organization. You have demonstrated experience building and maintaining robust Test Automation Frameworks. You have experience testing complex web apps, desktop apps, or both. You are meticulous in your work and passionate about testing. You have experience in coaching/guiding team members with testing best practices. You possess a solid grasp of test automation principles across different levels (unit, integration, E2E) and understand the challenges involved in building reliable, maintainable test suites and frameworks. Not a must, but a big plus if: You have experience with Creative Software.
