The Impact of a Sr Software Engineer - Technology Platform at Coupa:
 
In this role, you will design, build, and scale foundational platform services that power multiple products and teams. You will play a key role in driving technical excellence, improving developer productivity, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across our platform.

What You'll Do: : Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure platform services and frameworks Drive architecture decisions and contribute to long-term platform strategy Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and provide platform solutions Improve system performance, observability, and operational efficiency Ensure best practices in code quality Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture Proactively identify and resolve technical risks, bottlenecks, and production issues

What You Will Bring to Coupa: : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in platform or backend engineering Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or similar) Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Solid understanding of APIs, system design, and scalable architecture patterns Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) Experience with observability tools (monitoring, logging) and familiarity with DevOps practices Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and in memory key-value stores like Redis. Solid understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and database performance tuning Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
