Role and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Consultant is to support and contribute to the strategic objectives of UOWGE and carry out activities that focus on helping UOWGE realize its vision and performance goals.

Reporting to the UOWGE Head of Strategy, the Consultant is responsible for supporting in UOWGE's strategic initiatives across markets and segments through a thorough analysis of industry trends, competitive landscape, consumer surveys, and internal capabilities, including extensive primary and secondary research, data analysis, financial modeling, and synthesis.

Working closely with the Head of Strategy, the Consultant will be supporting on a range of initiatives and projects including market analysis, business analysis, strategy implementation, operational improvement, M&A, feasibility studies, and business planning. Utilizing data-driven insights, the role focuses on developing key strategic recommendations and hypotheses.

Central to the role of the Consultant is proficiency in consulting frameworks and tools, underpinned by the highest standards of excellence in technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Provide research and analysis support across initiatives and markets spanning market analysis, business analysis, strategy implementation, operational improvement, M&A, feasibility studies, and business planning.
• Conduct market research, consumer surveys/focus group discussions, and quantitative/qualitative analysis to support in identifying opportunities for growth, market entry strategies, and potential threats. Build data-driven insights to inform strategic recommendations.
• Conduct a thorough analysis of industry trends, competitive analysis, forecasting, and internal capabilities assessment that supports in defining strategic roadmap and business plan across markets and segments.
• Deliver comprehensive primary and secondary research, data analysis, financial modeling, and synthesis to support in the strategic decision-making process.
• Support in evaluating organization's business model, processes, and operations to help in identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Analyse financial data and performance metrics to provide relevant information for assessing business health and performance improvement strategy.
• Provide support in M&A activities, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, integration planning, and synergies. Support assessing the strategic fit and financial implications of potential acquisitions or divestitures.
• Help in developing action plans, timelines, and performance metrics to track progress and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Stay up to date with the latest consulting frameworks and tools to ensure the highest standards of excellence in technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The Most Suitable Background

• Academic qualification of at least a bachelor's in engineering or finance and economics (including CAs / MBAs), from top-tier institutions in India (such as IITs, BITS Pilani, top Delhi University Colleges, SSCBS, IIMs, ISB, etc.)
• Strong track record with demonstrated excellence in the area of academic specialization.
• Strong experience (1-3 years) and track record in management consulting (preferably with top-tier consulting firms such as MBBs, A&M, EYP, and Big 4s) or in corporate strategy roles at leading organizations.
• Demonstrated skills/knowledge/experience relevant to the job profile including but not limited to qualitative and quantitative research (primary and secondary), quantitative data analysis, consumer surveys, forecasting, financial modeling, business planning, and report writing.
• Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
• Excellent communication skills
