Data Governance Analyst - Remote

Role Overview

The Data Governance focus specializes in developing tools and processes to maintain a common, firm-wide data standard. Implements norms for creation and maintenance of common data dictionaries. Assesses, manages, and maintains strategies to reduce data redundancy, increasing the consistency, quality, and confidence of data used for decision making.

This is a remote position in India. We will only consider candidates currently in India and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About The Role

As a DGQ, your day-to-day responsibilities will include working across multiple stakeholders and processes to drive data governance initiatives.

• You will define, implement, and enforce data governance policies, including data quality standards, stewardship roles, and lifecycle management. You will apply industry best practices such as DAMA-DMBOK and COBIT to enhance data management and consistency.
• You will develop and maintain data governance frameworks, strategies, and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals while ensuring compliance with governance policies and standards.
• You will optimize data governance processes to improve efficiency and ensure consistent adoption across teams.
• You will lead and participate in data governance initiatives, including process standardization and metadata repository development, and work closely with data owners, data stewards, and business teams to drive governance adoption
• You will be responsible for maintaining clear documentation of data governance policies, workflows, and frameworks and creating reports on data governance performance, impact, and compliance to share with stakeholders.
• You will configure and manage Collibra workflows, rules, and policies to support governance initiatives, oversee data cataloging, lineage tracking, and stewardship, and ensure alignment with business goals.
• You will develop data quality dashboards and reporting mechanisms to monitor data health and drive data quality process adoption across the organization.
• You will track data lineage and metadata to ensure consistency and integration across systems while supporting data flow mapping and visualization for impact analysis.
  
  

About You

As a DGQ, you should possess the following technical expertise:

• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, COBIT) and regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Experience in data quality management, data stewardship, and metadata management.
• Proficiency in data lineage tracking, process mapping, and governance workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Collibra Data Governance platform and its integration with ETL tools.
• Expertise in data security best practices, including encryption and access controls.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive data governance initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with API integrations, workflow automation, and enterprise data governance tools.
• Solid understanding of SQL, Python, and PySpark for data processing and quality checks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and their native data tools.
