Software Engineer

About Job We are seeking a results-driven Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on developing scalable, cloud-native, data-intensive applications. This role is ideal for a highly skilled backend engineer with deep experience in database technologies and a strong track record of building and supporting data-intensive applications. You will play a critical role in designing scalable, high-performance solutions within our Phoenix system, leveraging a modern tech stack including Python, Spark, PostgreSQL, and Airflow. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that process massive volumes of consumer and retail data for customers around the globe. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain robust backend systems for high-volume data processing. Lead the design and optimization of relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL. Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production data pipelines and backend services. Provide hands-on production support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that are time-sensitive for client delivery. Collaborate across cross-functional teams involving Product, Operations, Design and Architecture teams to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business objectives. Apply a deep understanding of complex business logic to enhance system capabilities and data workflows. Champion best practices in code quality, performance tuning, and maintainability. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development, deployment, and monitoring processes. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.

3-7 years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise-grade applications, with a focus on backend and data systems. Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for data processing and application development. Demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning. Experience supporting mission-critical, time-sensitive production environments and client facing data delivery. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and scalable system design. Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices. Proven ability to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and adapt to evolving technical landscapes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently drive complex technical solutions. Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-enabled development workflows while maintaining engineering rigor, security standards, code quality, and architectural best practices. Experience working in Agile development environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
