Primary Responsibilities Allocate BIM staff across active projects in line with project delivery plans and the Department's resourcing methodology. Identify resourcing gaps or conflicts early and raise them to the Head of Department and the relevant Project Lead before they affect delivery, in line with the Project Delivery and Governance Guideline. Own overall BIM output quality and drawing presentation standards across REC. Set and monitor productivity and quality standards for the BIM team, distinct from the project-level quality checks performed by the BIM Quality Lead and Senior BIM Coordinator(s). Escalate any resourcing decision beyond the Department's established methodology, and any matter that cannot be resolved through coordination with the Quality function or the relevant Project Lead, to the Head of Department. Maintain visibility of BIM team capacity and utilisation across REC. Secondary Responsibilities Design and deliver a structured training scheme for the BIM team, covering software proficiency, modelling standards and productivity. Assign team members to the training scheme and track completion and resulting quality/productivity improvement. Identify individual skill gaps and provide or arrange targeted training as needed. Coordinate with Project Leads and Project BIM Leads on project-specific BIM resourcing and delivery needs. Report resourcing status, training progress and quality trends to the Head of Department on a regular basis. Ideal Character Type Hands-on and detail-focused: comfortable reviewing models and drawings directly, not managing purely at a distance. Owns resourcing and quality outcomes; escalates early rather than explaining late. Calm and structured under multiple concurrent project deadlines. Coaching mindset: builds capability in the team through training rather than working around gaps.
Minimum Qualifications Degree or diploma in a relevant BIM, architectural technology or engineering discipline. Minimum 25 years of relevant BIM experience, including substantial experience in a managerial or lead capacity with direct responsibility for team and resource management, ideally within a multi-disciplinary structural or MEP design environment. Proven track record with top-tier engineering consultancies in the region. Relevant professional accreditations required. Demonstrated experience designing or delivering structured training programmes for technical teams. Strong working knowledge of BIM standards, modelling software (e.g. Revit) and quality/productivity benchmarking. Why This Role May Interest You Genuine ownership of the BIM function's resourcing, quality standards and training programme. A newly defined role with a direct hand in shaping how BIM is structured across REC. Group backing for the tools and training the function needs.
