Job Profile: Backend - Software Development Engineer III - Crew Team Base Location: Bangalore Years of Experience: 6 - 8 About the team and the role; The Crew team builds Swiggy's AI-powered concierge and customer experience platform. We own the full stack — intelligent conversational agents, real-time chat infrastructure, CRM systems, internal operations dashboards, and user management services. Our systems power millions of daily customer interactions across verticals including Restaurants, Travel, Gifting, Cab Booking, and Dining Out, backed by distributed systems running on Go, Python, and React. The SDE3 / Tech Lead will own architectural decisions end-to-end, lead projects independently, mentor engineers, and partner with product to translate business needs into scalable, production-grade solutions. What will you get to do here? Coming up with best practices to help the team achieve their technical tasks and continually thrive in improving the technology of the product/team. Driving the adoption of best practices & regular Participation in code reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions. Experiment with new & relevant technologies and tools, and drive adoption while measuring yourself on the impact you can create. Implementation of long term technology vision for your team. Creating architectures & designs for new solutions around existing/new areas Decide technology & tool choices for your team & be responsible for them. Designing distributed systems that power real-time conversational AI, search, and customer engagement at scale Architecting LLM-based agent pipelines and embedding-based search systems Building and scaling real-time communication and CRM infrastructure Leading design reviews, architecture discussions, and driving engineering best practices Owning system reliability: instrumentation, observability, and designing for scale from day one Mentoring engineers and raising the overall engineering bar

What qualities are we looking for? B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with minimum 6 – 8 years of Experience in Product Development Company Sound knowledge and application of algorithms and data structures with space and me complexities Strong experience building and operating distributed systems — message queues, event-driven architectures, search engines, caching, async processing Proficiency in Go or Python (ideally both) Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from design to production Follow industry coding standards and responsible for writing maintainable/scalable/efficient code to solve business problems Solid system design skills — comfortable owning end-to-end architecture Experience with NoSQL databases, search engines (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), and AWS AI-native mindset: Active user of AI coding tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor) or eagerness to adopt them Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems — LLM integration, embedding models, or prompt engineering in production This Experience building conversational AI or agent-based systems in production Familiarity with LLM orchestration, RAG patterns, or multi-agent architectures Track record of mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities Experience with real-time communication systems and search/ranking infrastructure
