Credit Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter with 5-10 years of experience in Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and Specialized Industries lending. The role involves underwriting new loan requests, renewals, modifications, and Annual Reviews, Quarterly Reviews and Loan Origination support, while performing in-depth credit analysis and risk assessment to support lending decisions.

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare comprehensive credit packages and credit memorandums.
• Analyze business and personal financial statements using nCino or Moody's Credit Lens.
• Conduct credit, cash flow, and collateral analysis.
• Assess borrower repayment capacity and identify potential credit risks.
• Perform industry and market research to support underwriting decisions.
• Identify policy exceptions and recommend mitigating factors.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Loan Officers, and Credit teams throughout the underwriting process.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting standards, bank policies, and regulatory requirements.

 Required Skills :

• Strong commercial credit underwriting and risk assessment expertise.
• Financial statement spreading and analysis proficiency.
• Cash flow analysis and credit risk evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of commercial lending products and CRE transactions.
• Proficiency in nCino, IBS, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance or Accounting
• MBA (Finance) preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in Commercial Credit Underwriting, Commercial Real Estate Lending, Annual Reviews, Loan Origination or Specialized Industries Lending.
