Paytm Europe Payments S.A., is being established in Luxembourg, backed by One97 Communications Limited, one of India's largest fintech groups, with the ambition of transforming how SMEs across Europe accept and manage payments. Following launch in Luxembourg, the business will expand into Germany, the Netherlands and other European markets. Our success will depend not only on our technology, but on building Europe's strongest merchant acquisition team.
Role Purpose
This is not a traditional recruitment role. The Commercial Talent Acquisition Manager will design, build and scale Paytm Europe's commercial recruitment capability, with a primary focus on hiring exceptional Field Sales Representatives. The role will also help establish the Paytm Sales Academy, ensuring that every recruit is assessed, onboarded, trained and developed into a high-performing merchant acquisition professional.
Key Responsibilities
Build the Recruitment Engine
- Design a scalable recruitment process capable of supporting rapid European expansion.
- Develop sustainable sourcing channels and talent pipelines.
- Build recruitment processes that deliver quality, consistency and speed.
Identify Exceptional Talent
- Target commercially driven, resilient and coachable individuals rather than traditional financial services sales profiles.
- Build relationships with colleges, universities, retail, hospitality and telecommunications sectors.
Assess Talent
- Design practical assessment processes including role plays, behavioural interviews, sales simulations and resilience testing.
- Recruit people who can sell, not simply interview well.
Develop the Paytm Sales Academy
- Create structured onboarding and training programmes covering products, payments, compliance, CRM, objection handling and merchant engagement.
- Support ongoing coaching and certification.
Employer Branding
- Position Paytm Europe as one of Europe's most exciting commercial employers.
- Develop recruitment marketing campaigns and referral initiatives.
Recruitment Analytics
- Track KPIs including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance, retention and sales performance by recruitment source.
- Continuously improve recruitment using data.
Culture
- Help build a high-performance culture based on integrity, accountability, resilience and customer focus.
Ideal Background
Candidates may currently work in commercial recruitment, retail, telecommunications, FMCG, hospitality or organisations with significant field sales teams. Experience recruiting customer-facing commercial employees at scale is more valuable than experience recruiting senior executives.
Essential Experience
- Experience recruiting commercial or field-based sales teams.
- Strong interviewing and assessment capability.
- Experience designing scalable recruitment processes.
- Comfortable in a fast-growth environment.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and French, German and other languages are a huge plus.
Highly Desirable
- Experience creating graduate or sales academy programmes.
- Experience with assessment centres and employer branding.
- Exposure to fintech, payments, telecommunications or technology businesses.

Commercially minded, energetic, resilient and highly organised. An excellent judge of character, capable of identifying potential before experience, willing to challenge conventional recruitment practices and passionate about developing people.
