As the Solution Architect for Public Sector India, you'll be the technical lead for ServiceNow's entry into the Indian public sector. You'll turn government digitisation programs into solution blueprints, proof of concepts, and winning bids, with AI at the centre of the story. Purpose: Design and deliver AI-led architectures aligned with the India AI Mission & ministry priorities, proof of concepts, and tender responses that win public sector business in India and build trust with government technology leaders and SI partners. India Public Sector Context: Who we serve: central ministries, state governments, PSUs, regulators, smart city and urban bodies, and digital public infrastructure programs. Where ServiceNow fits: citizen grievance and service delivery, case management, GRC, IT operations for large government estates, workflow over legacy systems, and AI-assisted operations. How deals happen: tender-led (RFP/RFQ, GeM), SI and partner-led bids, price-sensitive evaluation, long sales cycles. What shapes the design: data residency, MeitY-empanelled cloud, CERT-In and security audits, the DPDP Act, and Make in India preferences. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Public Sector BD & Sales Leads for the GTM plan for Central and State Ministries, Public Sector Banks and Higher Education / Universities Lead architecture sessions with government CIO, IT, and NIC teams, translating program goals into actionable blueprints. Own the technical response on RFPs and tenders: compliance matrices, architecture, sizing, and clarifications. Build and run proof of concepts and demos across AI, workflow, and integration that prove value in days, not weeks. Design within government constraints: hosting, data localisation, security, AI governance, and integration with legacy and national platforms. Co-sell with SIs and partners on solution scope, bid strategy, and delivery handoff. Partner with Sales, Solution Consultants, Specialists, Product, and Legal on deal strategy and risk. Work with regional AI experts to shape and validate AI solutions and proof of concepts. Build reusable India public sector assets: reference architectures, AI use-case patterns, an RFP response library, and a compliance FAQ. Mentor Solution Consultants on public sector sales motions.
To be successful in this role you have: Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry. 8-10 years of exclusive public sector pre-sales experience (government, PSU, or SI/OEM on government programs). Excellent communication: executive presence, storytelling, and strong written and verbal skills. Able to simplify complex architecture for non-technical decision makers and earn credibility with CIOs, senior officials, and SI architects. AI fundamentals (LLMs, agents, RAG, data readiness, responsible AI and governance), with the drive and capacity to reach expert level within 12-18 months. Proven track record on tenders and RFPs, with fluency in procurement and compliance requirements. Depth in enterprise workflow or ITSM platforms (ServiceNow preferred; fast ramp expected if not), plus integration, API, data, and automation architecture. Trusted advisor on deal strategy, not only demos. Based in, or willing to relocate to, NCR (New Delhi), with regular travel to government offices. Good to Have: Hands-on ServiceNow experience, including Now Assist and AI Agents. Familiarity with MeitY empanelment, GeM, CERT-In, the DPDP Act, and the IndiaAI Mission. Existing government and SI network. What We Offer: A structured AI upskilling path to expert level over 6-12 months. Direct access to regional AI experts for design, proof of concepts, and deal support. Ground-floor ownership of a new vertical in India. TR21
