Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Engineer to join our BIM team. The candidate will be responsible for converting 2D telecom design drawings into accurate 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit, coordinating telecom systems with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and BIM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert 2D telecom drafting documents into accurate 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
- Team Management internal coordination
- Develop and maintain telecom BIM models in accordance with project requirements, design specifications, and BIM standards.
- Prepare telecom layouts, cable routing plans, installation drawings, sections, and detailed drawings.
- Model telecom containment systems, including cable trays, conduits, trunking, and cable pathways.
- Set up and manage the Project Base Point and Survey Point in Revit in accordance with project coordinate systems and survey information.
- Apply appropriate IFC classifications and parameters to telecom elements to support model exchange, coordination, and data requirements
- Create, configure, and maintain Revit schedules, including equipment schedules, cable tray schedules, and other project-specific schedules.
- Prepare and manage drawing sheets, title blocks, sheet numbering, drawing indexes, and sheet sets in accordance with project documentation standards.
- Coordinate telecom systems with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other relevant disciplines.
- Perform clash detection, identify design conflicts, and assist in resolving multidisciplinary coordination issues.
- Review design drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies and ensure model accuracy.
- Create and manage Revit families, view templates, filters, tags, and other modelling components as required.
- Ensure BIM models and drawings comply with project BIM standards, Level of Development (LOD) requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Export and validate IFC models in accordance with project-specific IFC export settings and information requirements.
- Review BIM models and drawings prepared by junior modellers and provide technical guidance.
- Incorporate design revisions, maintain model quality, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in civil, Mechanical, electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- 59 years of experience in telecom BIM modelling or a BIM oriented project experience.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD, Navisworks.
- Experience converting 2D telecom drawings into coordinated 3D BIM models.
- Experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Knowledge of Revit families, schedules, view templates, and construction documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design specifications, and project BIM standards.
Create, configure, and manage Revit shared parameters in accordance with project BIM standards and information requirements.
Assign shared parameters to Revit families and project elements to maintain consistent model data.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection.
- Knowledge of BIM execution plans (BEP), Level of Development (LOD), and quality control procedures.
- Experience mentoring junior BIM modellers and reviewing their deliverables.
