Data Engineer

We are looking for Data Engineer to join our Data Management team. If you are passionate about data, keeping up to date with new technologies and have a good eye for detail, this is the role for you.

This role will form a major part of our Data and Technology department, in this role you will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture for reporting as well as ML and measurement models, ensuring that our team have the data available to them to drive our clients business forward.

You will support our GCP Engineers in using Google Cloud platform to build rich databases, transforming and moulding data from a variety of sources, such as Google Analytics; Campaign Manager; Search Ads 360; and client data. This data will build the foundations for us to provide industry leading solutions to transform our clients marketing and media activity. You will also support our Data Scientist in answering more ad hoc queries, building statistical and machine learning models and designing data visualisations based on client-specific needs.

This is an exciting data-driven role and we're looking for someone to take it to their first step int data and cloud solutions. Solving complex problems is something you do for fun. You possess great attention to detail and a precise eye for presenting data in strong, visually striking ways. Measures Of Success

In 3 months, you would have:

• Have a good understanding of our internal/client GCP architecture, current tools and process and projects the wider team are working on.

• Started a learning path towards a GCP certification

Responsibilities Of The Role

• Aid in the establishment, configuration, and upkeep of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud services.
• Monitor the cloud infrastructure for performance and security issues, taking proactive measures to address any concerns.
• Work in conjunction with senior engineers to design and deploy scalable and dependable cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot and rectify technical problems related to cloud services and applications.
• Assist in the application of security best practices to safeguard cloud resources and data.
• Participate in regular backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies.
• Document procedures and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Provide technical support and assistance stakeholders.
  
  

What You Will Need

• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, with a keen interest in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with cloud service providers, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP, is advantageous.
• Proficient programming skills in one or more languages (preferably Python).
• Familiar with containerisation tools such as Docker.
• Experience using batch data workflow tools such as Airflow.
• Comfortable working in an agile environment.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
